My Parents

When I was looking through some of my photos today I came upon this one of my parents and decided to post about them. They’ve been so supportive to me through every phase of my life and I know that they’re behind me whatever I decide to do in life. I really appreciate them and want them to know. I also want to thank them for getting me my first camera at age 14! I’ve loved it ever since. I know they’re my number one fans ;)

My Mark

When I was cleaning out my room yesterday getting ready to move back home, I started thinking about my mark. I wanted to leave something of me behind somewhere, whether it be a hidden note or my name under a desk…I felt that human urge to be remembered. I never really understood why people carved their names in trees or bathroom stalls before. Now I just think it’s because they wanted the world to know where they had been and what they had gone through. This room was a pretty big part of my life for the last nine months and I’ll feel a bit mixed to let it go and never return.

All of this thinking turned me into reflecting about my life. If I were to be taken away, what would my mark or my legacy be? Would anyone remember me? That’s when I decided I will leave a mark on this world. The best mark I can make through my photography. I want to help people feel good and beautiful and special. I want to touch their lives, even if just for one day. That’s what I’m going to set out to do.

I’ve really learned that every post is better with a picture so here’s one!

Abby and Adam

Last February, my sister asked me to do a shoot of her and Adam for a present she was going to give him. He obviously didn’t know the true purpose behind it! I’m hoping that they had fun and I’d love to take more photos of them again :)
